Frontier Co-Op, Almond Flavor, Non-Alcoholic, 2 fl oz (59 ml)
Almond milk is a popular non-alcoholic drink made from almonds. It’s usually sweetened, but some varieties are unsweetened. Many people choose to drink almond milk instead of regular milk because they think it has nutritional value. Many believe drinking almond milk helps with digestion and promotes healthy skin. However, there’s no scientific evidence to support these claims.
Milk is made from dairy products such as cow, goat or sheep milk. It’s typically sweetened with sugar and has many nutrients, including calcium, protein, vitamin A and vitamin D. However, some people choose to drink unsweetened almond milk instead of regular milk. They claim it’s because it contains fewer carbohydrates and more essential vitamins and minerals. Makers of Frontier claim their co-op is healthier than regular milk. They even add extra protein to make it stronger. Plus, the co-op tastes just like regular milk and has the same nutritional value.
To make almond milk, you’ll need almonds, organic cane sugar and a blender or food processor. You can use a standard recipe for making cow’s milk or goat’s milk. Simply use less water and more almonds than usual. You can also use ground almonds instead of whole ones for a smoother taste. Next, add the sugar and blend or process the ingredients until smooth. You can also heat your mixture in a saucepan until it reaches a boil before adding your almonds. Then, let the mixture cool before straining it to remove any bubbles or residue. Bottle your co-op in mason jars or other suitable containers and place in your fridge for two to three days before consuming it.
You can also make your own almond co-op by soaking dry almonds overnight in water. The next morning, remove them from the water and place them on a dish towel to air dry for 12 hours. After that, you have 2 days left before you’ll need to strain your co-ops from the gas pressure cooker you used for soaking your almonds. After that, you’ll need a colander to strain your co-ops from the almond shells using a cheesecloth or nylon strainer. Cover your colander with a kitchen towel to catch any stray almond shells before pouring your co-op into it through the strainer into another bowl for draining excess liquid from the co-op. After that, place your unstrained co-op into an oven heated at 180 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour to dry the coating off of the co-op before consuming it.
Drinking almond milk isn’t wrong- but drinking non-alcoholic variants isn’t any healthier than drinking alcoholic variants either. That said, many people choose to drink almond milk because they think it tastes better than regular milk. It’s not wrong; it’s just different! Everyone should experiment with different foods and beverages to see what works best for them without relying on hearsay or anecdotal evidence to guide them in their choices.
